iLux®

What is iLux®?

iLux® is a handheld device that heats and massages the eye lids to soften an express the meibomian glands. This encourages oil to flow more freely and improve the quality of your tear film.

What can I expect from a session?

• Your eyelid will be placed in the machines soft treatment pads
• The device will then heat up the meibomian glands with light
• A small amount of pressure is exerted to express the heated oil

How long does the procedure take?

• The entire treatment takes 8-12 minutes

Do I need to repeat the procedure? 

• Additional treatments may be recommended based on a patients symptoms

Down time and after care?

• There is no down time associated with this procedure, normal daily eyelid hygiene is encouraged
